A quickie.

Just came from seeing The Family Stone. Loved it. And I think I may have an answer for my continually asking you about your family: I miss mine. I was vicariously experimenting the annoyance and joy of having a family through you. I have been an orphan for much more time than my parents have been dead. You see, I left my home when I was sixteen because I wanted to 'live my life'. And not much differently than you now, I considered my family a little bit boring. And then I was living alone in a big city, going to the school I wanted to go, dating without no one telling me it was wrong to date guys twice and three times my age and staying up all night and going dancing and meeting three hundred fifty seven intersting people and all that. Does it sound familiar? Oh, yeah, I did most everything you are doing now, but without the blasé attitude that you try to affect and without the altered states. But anyways, I think after seeing this movie that I really liked the idea I have of

Think of this: days of Spanish MTV and Logo with a touch of Sci-fi and Cartoon Network. Add lots of yummy food and a totatlly new environment. There's still more to come, though: going to see David Searis, probably go to the movies and see Rent (thinking of you, babyboy) and then back to my friend's house (we are at her sister's) for a little bit more of fun. And I'm behind on my grading. And I don't care. I feel liberated. My Thanksgiving Day break was very cool. A little bit of everything, even heartache. We got to Dermie's on time. I drove all the way to Chicago and it was cool. Even after he criticized my driving (I tend to just brake when needed and according to him I should not use the cruise control, but keep my 'foot on the pedal all the time'. Whatever) We got there and Derms was cool -as usual- and we had some food and watched my fav channel: videos en Español. And Logo. A cable channel all-gay-all-the-time. Fantabulous! When it rains....

Apparently when it rains, it pours in my life. I'm Mr.Right Now ... again. The post I'm applying for, the position I am filling right now but in a permanent basis just slipped under my feet. The person I'm replacing decided he wants his job back and it's applying for it. And he is my friend! He even wrote a letter recommending me for the job. WEIRD! So I'll be good enough until next Spring and then... the boot. I don't know what I'm going to do. Not to mention that the strain in the relationship will increase. Oh joy! Isn't it funny? I guess I should brace myself for something really good. I imagine that my Karma should change and eventually I'll get to be Mr. Right (if not for someone then for some job!) for once and for all. But isn't it true also that if we didn't have these ups and downs then life wouldn't be life? I cannot say my life is dull. No siree. An ongoing soap opera. Daitime Emmys be damned.
